The Story of Creation, Part 1 (Genesis 1 and John 1:3)

Do you know who made the stars, the sun, and the moon? God did. Do you know who made the flowers, the birds, and all the animals we enjoy so much? God did. The Bible says, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” And the Bible says of Jesus, “All things were made by him and without him was not anything made that was made.” Do you like apples? Do you like peaches? Do you like strawberries? I do, and God made them all and everything else that’s good, for us. God loves us very much, and he takes good care of us when we put our trust in him. It’s hard to believe that God could make everything in six days, but he did. On the first day, he made light. On the second day, he made the sky and atmosphere. On the third day God separated the water from the land, and he made the grass to grow and everything that grows on the earth. God had already made light but on the fourth day, he made the sun, moon, and stars. On the fifth day, God made the fish of the sea and the birds of the air. On the sixth day, God created all land animals; after that and still on the sixth day he created man in his own image and put him in charge of everything. Why did God rest on the seventh day? Was he tired? No, God doesn’t get tired. He rested because his work was completed. Everything was perfect, and God himself said that it was very good. We will continue tomorrow with more on the story of creation.
