Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul: And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
Barnabas had presented Paul to the church after his conversion, and now he searches him out to help in the work at the Gentile church in Antioch. After a year of teaching many people Barnabas, Paul, and other believers were called Christians because they taught and lived the gospel of Christ. “Christians,” what an honorable title! If we take the name, let us live the name in word, thought, and deed.
