Acts 19:18-20 (KJV)

And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds. Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

The converts to Christ in this passage did not sell their books worth 50,000 pieces of silver but burnt them. They destroyed the books because they wanted the influence of the books to be destroyed. It is strong proof of conversion when believers get rid of things which are not consistent with their new found faith in Christ. Oh, how we need to see more of this in our day. The best thing to do with bad books and other related items is to burn them. And let it be said of today’s church, “So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.”
