2 Corinthians 5:14-15 (KJV)

For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

It was necessary that Jesus die for all because all were dead in sin, and it was God’s great love for us that sent Jesus to Calvary on our behalf. “Was it for crimes I had done He groaned upon the tree? Amazing pity! Grace unknown! And love beyond degree! But drops of grief can never repay the debt of love I owe. Here, Lord, I give myself away; ‘Tis all that I can do.” Oh, let us “love Him because He first loved us…for the love of Christ constraineth us.”
