The Story of Adam & Eve, Part 2 (Genesis 2-3)

We don’t know how long it lasted, but Adam and Eve had a wonderful life living in the beautiful Garden of Eden. Everything was perfect, and I think the best part of all were the times God came down into the garden and talked with Adam and Eve. They knew God had created them, and they knew he loved them very much. Adam and Eve also loved God and did everything God told them because their hearts were pure, and they were without sin. Yes, they lived a very wonderful life, probably almost like it will be in heaven; but something very sad was about to happen. Do you remember God warning them not to eat the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that was in the middle of the garden, and if they did they would die? I asked you yesterday if you thought they would obey God’s command. If you said “No” you were right, and what they did is so sad it almost makes you cry. It really messed things up in this world in a big and terrible way. Tomorrow, we will learn how the devil tricked them into breaking God’s commandment, and how he did it through a snake.
