Matthew 21:42-44 (KJV)

Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

The Jews rejected the chief cornerstone of their doctrine when they rejected Jesus. It was foretold in the scriptures (Psalm 118:22) that the Messiah would be rejected, and in today’s Bible passage the Jews were fulfilling that very prophecy. “And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.” Men and women everywhere are still rejecting Jesus. Oh, let us be faithful in praying for those we know to fall by repentance and faith upon the stone Christ Jesus that the stone of God’s judgment fall not upon them.
