Mark 15:37-39 (KJV)

And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost. And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom. And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.

The Jews who denied him, the Romans who crucified him, the Greeks perhaps in enjoyment of a new sensation, they were all there looking on when the centurion cried out, “Truly this man was the Son of God.” How sad that when “he came unto his own…his own received him not.” Sadder still is the fact that 2000 years later, many men and woman are still turning Jesus away. But friends, Jesus hung on that awful cross to make atonement for our sins as well. Oh, let us receive Him daily as King and Lord of all that we are and have.
