Acts 1:6-8 (KJV)

When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Jesus promised power to his disciples; the power came, and the Church was born. Communicating Christ to a lost world requires spiritual power; not power of our own wisdom, but from the Holy Spirit. Let us be encouraged to know that the promise of the Holy Spirit is also with us, and it is he who works when we share the Lord with others. “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him” (Luke 11:15)?
