2 Thessalonians 3:10-11 (KJV)

For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.

“This we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.” The Greek phrase here means “not willing to work.” Christians, by nature, are generous people; however, there is no obligation to feed able bodied people who could if they would, but they just will not work. This might seem heartless to some, but lazy people won't learn their lesson if they are continually supported and excused for bad behavior. On the other hand, what a blessing it is to work heartedly in the Lord’s vineyard. Consider John Wesley’s rule: “Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as you can.”
