Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
Peter was not ashamed to acknowledge his own poverty because he represented the one who possesses all wealth and all power. The man walking and leaping became living proof of the power that is in the name of Jesus. Though many servants of Christ have little of “silver and gold,” they have something far better; they possess the grace of God and many opportunities to share Jesus with others. Dear friends, let us do our part in sharing the riches of Jesus with others.
