2 Corinthians 9:6-8 (KJV)

But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

“God loves a cheerful giver” because God is a cheerful giver. Verse 15 of this same chapter reads, “Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.” It is unspeakable but let us speak of it, not only with words but also by actions. I’m sure you remember the rhyme, “Only one life, it will soon be past; only what’s done for Christ will last.” Also, it was Corrie ten Boom who said, “The measure of a life, after all, is not its duration, but its donation.”
