Ephesians 5:25-28 (KJV)

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

I have a few God-given goals for my life and one of them is to be a good husband to my wife and a good father to my children; and I love the saying, “The best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother.” How important is the marriage relationship when we consider it to be a figure of the relationship between Christ and his church. “Husbands, love your wives even as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it.”
