For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
Jeremiah warned Israel that God’s judgment would fall upon them if they did not repent of their two evils. History shows his warnings were ignored and God’s judgment fell upon the land. What about America and nations around the world? Have we forsaken the fountain of living waters and hewed out cisterns that can hold no water? Will we learn from God’s Word and from History that God says what he means and means what he says? Lord, I pray for America and for nations around the world, that there will be a great turning back to God; and I pray for myself and for those who are reading/listening right now that we will be encouraged and challenged to stand tall for God every day of our lives. I pray in Jesus name, Amen.
