I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

Ungodly leaders often try to stop Christians from meeting for Bible study and prayer and from sharing the gospel with others. In was so in Paul’s day, and many times it is so in our day. Let us follow Paul’s admonition that “supplications, prayer, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men…and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.” Prayer changes things and prayer changes people.
