And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
In the beginning of his epistle, chapter 1, verse 4, John said, “And these things write we unto you that your joy might be full.” Now at the close he said, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” Nothing can fill up our joy more than believing on the name of the Son of God and knowing our future is in his hands. Corrie ten Boom said, “Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.”
