And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.
It has been suggested that the smoke of the incense which came with the prayers of the saints was an indication that the prayers were accepted. Clark and Pendleton comment, “The prayers of the saints are held in high estimation in heaven. They come up before God with great acceptance when there is added the incense of a Savior’s merits.” Friends, did not Jesus say, “Pray to thy Father which is in secret and they Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly?”
