Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee. And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake, Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.
Sacrificial service for the kingdom of God’s sake is not always easy, but the benefits far outweigh the difficulties. For example, I know a missionary couple who took their children to the opposite side of the world far away from grandparents, family, and friends. That was a very hard thing to do; yet today, these same children are missionaries taking the gospel message around the world. What a blessing during “this present time” for these missionary parents; but then Jesus adds the grand finale blessing, “and in the world to come life everlasting.”
