Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
“…For Him hath God the Father sealed.” To seal is to verify as genuine. Jesus is verified by the Father as being the Messiah and the giver of eternal life by virtue of his miraculous birth, his baptism, and his works. Yet, food for the body is more important to many people than seeking spiritual and eternal food. It’s often necessary to labor hard to supply our basic material needs, and there’s nothing wrong with that; but oh, let us give priority to the “meat which endureth unto everlasting life.”
