Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
The council wondered and marveled at the boldness of Peter and John knowing them to be unschooled and ordinary men. The only explanation was that they had been with Jesus and therefore displayed the spirit of Jesus. Oh, may we also show forth the spirit of Jesus in our daily lives “for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
