And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
Peter was chosen “that the Gentiles…should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.” How important it is that the gospel be shared with every creature “for how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard?” How important it is that we who have heard really believe the gospel; and how important it is that we do all we can to share the gospel with others for it is only by trusting in Jesus that hearts can be purified from sin. It’s important, it’s really important!
