The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
In our society, when people get caught in sin, they often excuse themselves by blaming others. God has a different perspective. He gives us freedom to choose, but also holds us responsible for those choices. It’s true that we are influenced much by our forefathers, and they that come after will be influenced by us; but it’s now our time to choose and reap the consequences of following either the good or the evil influences in this world. Here’s the big question: “Do I choose to trust and obey Jesus who gave his life to save me from my sins?” Our answer to that question will determine where we will stand at the judgment.
