3 John 1-4 (KJV)

The elder unto the wellbeloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth. Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” The joy of John, now an aged man, certainly reflects how faithful followers bring joy to our heavenly Father “who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” The Bible also says, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). Thank God for men and women who are walking in God’s truth and setting a good example for all of us. Oh, let us be in their number.
