Matthew 23:11-13 (KJV)

But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted. But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

In very strong words, Jesus condemns the Pharisees and leaders who rejected His claims. They had exalted themselves above the very Word of God, and therefore they would be abased. Friends, let humility be our trademark as Christians; we have nothing, nor are we anything, except what God has given us and done for us in Christ.
