Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. The disciples rejoiced because Jesus had given them power over demons. Jesus gave them a greater reason to rejoice: “Rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.” The earthly wise and prudent know nothing of the joy of salvation that comes through faith in Christ. Oh, let us joy in our salvation and in the salvation of others. God rejoices when we do so.
