And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned? Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
I think this passage implies that we do not know the fullness of God’s will until we want to know it with all our heart. It is when we will to do his will that his will is revealed to us through the scriptures and the Holy Spirit. When his will is our will, then his wisdom becomes our wisdom and we can happily say, “My doctrine is not mine but the doctrine of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”
