In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
The words, “As the scripture hath said,” may point back to Isaiah 12:3, “Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.” Are we thirsting for true joy and happiness and the favor of God upon our lives? It will only come by trusting in the one who said, “He that believeth on me…out of his belly (out of his inter-most being) shall flow rivers of living water.”
