The Story of Noah and the Flood, Part 5 (Genesis 7-8)

The storm outside was really bad, but everyone and everything inside the ark were safe. Noah and his family were thankful to God for saving them from the great flood. They were also glad they had believed God because everything happened just as God said it would happen. That’s the way God is. He says what he means and means what he says. God is holy and he hates sin, but at the same time God is love, and he loves all the people in the world today. Do you believe that if we trust in Jesus and follow him God will take care of us just as he took care of Noah and his family inside the ark? We know it is true because Jesus said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” How long do you think it took before the flood waters went away and the ark was again on dry land? The Bible says the ark floated on the waters for about five months; and after it touched the ground at Mt. Ararat, it was another seven months before the ground was dry enough for Noah’s family and the animals to live outside the ark. I imagine that when their feet finally touched the ground they were very happy and excited. What do you think will be the first thing they will do when their feet touch the ground? Tomorrow we will find out.
