1 Timothy 4:12-13 (KJV)

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

Paul’s words to Timothy are a reminder to us. God wants us to set an example in godly living so others will come to respect and respond to God’s call on their lives. There’s a poem that includes the line, “I’d rather see a sermon than hear one any day.” What do others see in us? Do our words, our actions, our faith, our love, the time we spend in God’s Word show others that Jesus is real; and that He cares for all people?
